'vcashpoint' Funding Opportunity
'vcashpoint' is the funding initiative for young people who want to set up a voluntary project in their own community. By providing grants of up to £2500, vcashpoint can help young people turn their ideas for voluntary projects into reality.
Round 1 of vcashpoint attracted over 500 applications and saw young people from all walks of life & locations in England receive funding for their own projects. These included:
- a peer monitoring project supporting young boys and girls who have been victims of bullying
- a project to encourage young people to break down racial barriers by exploring each others cultural traditions through art
- a street party project to raise awareness of environmental issues
On 5 December, vcashpoint re-opened for applications and we at v want to make sure as many young people as possible are aware of this great opportunity.
Our aim is to double the number of applications we receive for round two, so we can give more young people the opportunity to develop valuable life and work skills that will serve both the young person and their community.
The deadline for round two applications is 1 February 2008
