University of Worcester - Youth Work Courses Sept 08

A professional youth work qualification* at honours degree level together with a new foundation degree designed to prepare students for entry or professional development within a wide range of young people services are now available at the University of Worcester.

They are currently recruiting for the following courses for September 2008:

Youth and Community Services BA (Hons)
Professional youth work qualification*
3 year full time and 5 year part-time route available

Young People Services Foundation Degree
Course developed in consultation with local Connexions, Youth Offending, Youth Support Service and Voluntary Sector Organisations working with young people.
2 year full time and part-time route available.

Both courses have a substantial element of work-based learning. Students within suitable employment will be able to use their workplace for work-based learning aspects of the course. Other students will be supported in finding suitable placement opportunities.

Applicants who lack traditional entry level qualifications will be considered on the basis of experience, ability to communicate and learn at the required level and ability to discuss and form opinions about ideas and theories relevant to effective practice with young people.
