Tryangle Awards Deadline Approaches
Worcestershire County Council reminds county's residents of Tryangle deadline Worcestershire County Council is reminding residents there is still a few days for them to get their nominations in for its annual Tryangle Awards. The council is once again on the look-out for 11 to 19-year-olds from across Worcestershire to be nominated for its latest round of county-wide awards, which were launched by Youth Support last month (December).
People have until February 12 to nominate any 'unsung heroes' they think are worthy of receiving a Tryangle Award. Anybody who has an involvement with young people - such as teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, volunteers, family and friends – can nominate a young person for one of the following categories:
• Bravery
• Personal Achievement in the Arts
• Personal Achievement in Music
• Personal Achievement in Sports or Outdoor Activity
• Good Friends and Carers
• Citizenship and Environment
• Personal Development
Councillor Liz Eyre, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People (12-19) said: "There's still time for people who may have been thinking about nominating somebody, to get their nominations into us.
"The Tryangle Awards are all about recognising and celebrating effort, we are not only celebrating the high fliers, but we want to applaud the real triers too and we need the help of Worcestershire residents to help identify them."
Every young person who is nominated will receive a certificate to show that his or her efforts have been recognised. The overall winners of each category will be announced at a special awards ceremony at County Hall, Worcester on March 11.
People interested in finding out more or making a nomination should call Worcestershire County Council's Youth Support on 01905 765417 or visit www.youthworcs.org.uk/tryangle
