Three Yearly Inspection of Safeguarding and Looked After Children Services in Worcestershire
**Latest Update**
Briefing Note 8 - 15th October 2010
**
Until December 2008, Ofsted assessed how well local services worked together to improve outcomes of children and young people through Joint Area Reviews (JARs). In April 2009, these were replaced by inspection of outcomes and services for safeguarding and looked after children services.
An inspection of safeguarding and looked after children services is a joint inspection of services within a local area. It focuses on evaluating outcomes for children and young people and the impact that practice and all services have on improving outcomes, including through managing risk and minimising the incidence of child abuse and neglect.
