The Munro Review - seeking views from the VCS
The Munro Review would like to ask for interested volunteers from the VCS to take part in some closed email conversations to inform their research following publication of Professor Munro’s first report in October (details at www.education.gov.uk/munroreview/.
Professor Munro would like to hear views from some of those working in the VCS with experience of child protection issues, from strategic or frontline perspectives, about potential improvements to the child protection system. Conversations will run over three weeks and will focus on three themes (1 per week), as follows:
Tues 16th - Mon 22nd Nov – Early Help
Tues 23rd - Mon 29th Nov – Frontline Practice
Tues 30th Nov – Mon 5th Dec – Transparency & Accountability
Participants will be asked to respond to a number of questions or statements on which they have particular views to add and also to respond to comments made by other members of the group. The demands in terms of time are not expected to be significant – we ask that all participants commit to reading the email chain as often as they can and to comment when they have something to add. We anticipate that there will be between 25-30 people in the conversation.
Important notes:
• Participants must be willing to share their email address and views with the others in the conversation.
• Participants are asked to agree that they are taking part on the basis that the email conversation is closed and won’t be shared more widely that the Munro Review and members of the conversation group.
• The conversation and associated questions or statements are sent by the review for research purposes only and are NOT policy intentions.
