Positive Activities Audit
DCSF (Departments for Schools, Children and Families) is undertaking a data collection exercise around Positive Activities for young people. They want to take a snapshot of the pattern of youth offer provisions over the week beginning February 1st 2010.Obviously the Voluntary Sector has a vitally important role in offering positive activities to young people, and we need to ensure that our contribution is captured in order to reflect this role. We would therefore ask you to respond to this request and complete the form for all those activities taking place during the week commencing 1st February.
This exercise is not about the numbers of young people only the numbers of sessions being offered. The focus of this provision is for young people aged 13-19 and for young people with learning difficulties up to 24. Although sessions that include those outside this age range should still be included providing they accommodate young people within the age range. For this exercise a session is defined as a single instance of a structured positive activity that supports one or more of the Every Child Matters outcomes. The location of the session is irrelevant. A positive activity (such as a youth group or sports club) can have multiple sessions.
Making sure we get a good response from the voluntary and community sector will confirm our position as a major contributor to the Children and Young Peoples Agenda.
