Future of Worcestershire Youth Service
The County Council have announced that as part of their package of cuts Positive Activities for Young People (the Youth Service) is having its budget reduced by £1.4m from April 2012. The County Council is now consulting what arrangements should be put in place to allocate the remaining £1m. The consultation commenced on 6th July and continues until 30th September.
One of the main results of the cuts in funding is that the voluntary youth sector is going to be crucial for young people and their leisure activities.
It is very important that young people, staff and volunteers involved in the voluntary youth sector have their say. We want all our members to respond to the consultation.
You can find the consultation at http://haveyoursay.whub.org.uk/whub/KMS/dmart.aspx and search for Current Consultations – Positive Activities.
