Free Resource for Youth Groups
Fancy getting your hands on a FREE resource that can help you discuss topical issues with your youth group?Young people from Worcestershire have designed, developed and acted in a DVD called ‘SHOT’ based on a group of youths hanging out in the local car park. The main theme of the DVD is alcohol misuse, as we see the central figure, Martin, rushed off to hospital after a heavy night of drinking, but other topics are touched on such as relationships and sexual health.
Along with the DVD, the package contains a workbook full of useful ideas on how the DVD could be used with your group. It includes a copy of the script to refer to and relevant contacts for further information
Community Safety Co-ordinator for Worcester City Council, Launa Walker, has copies of the package and can be contacted on 01905 722067 for further information.
Community Safety Partnerships from across the county have worked with Worcestershire County Council and the SMAT team to produce the ‘SHOT’ package which is available to all agencies working with young people between the ages of 13-16.
