FREE ON-LINE SAFEGUARDING TRAINING FOR WCVYS MEMBERS

WCVYS has recently surveyed it members about safeguarding and the level and number of trained workers and volunteers. One of the conclusions is that WCVYS has now adopted a policy that:

All members should have at least one member of staff that has completed Group A of Safeguarding Training and the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) awareness training.

Both these training programmes can be completed on-line and currently we are offering the Group A training.

WCVYS has negotiated that its members can have one free place per member organisation.

In order to access a free place for one of your volunteers or workers to the Group A training, please complete the attached proforma and return to Phil Street – phil@wcvys.co.uk

Once the proforma is returned, WCVYS will liaise with Worcestershire Safeguarding Children’s Board (WSCB) and the applicant will be sent a password and access to the on-line training.

The Group A training can be completed in a single session or undertaken in a series of separate sessions. The training will take approximately 2 hours to complete. Once the programme has been completed this will be automatically registered with WSCB and the E-Academy and a certificate will be issued.

The named person on your proforma should NOT have already completed Group A of the safeguarding training.

If you require clarification or further details please contact Phil Street.
