Extended Services Strategy

Worcestershire County Council has been supporting the development of extended services in and around schools since 2005. Between 2005 and 2007 the programme was piloted in four areas and then, in early 2007, work began on developing a network of Community and School Clusters. All 250 schools and a full range of local partners have now engaged in a structured extended services planning process delivered through these clusters. This planning process involved a number of partnership planning workshops where schools and partners worked together to assess the needs of children and young people in their area and then agreed priorities for action to meet those needs.

The outcomes of these extended services planning meetings have been used to inform the development of a formal three year strategy;  the strategy has recently been approved by the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership.

Details of the strategy and the local action plans are on the District Pages or on the County Council website.
