Does Your Organisation Need A Website?

Following our successful Volunteering Forum in October 2007, (Marketing your Organisation for Recruiting Volunteers) the keynote speaker, Crispin Manners from Kaizo, and one of his clients have offered to help small organisations create their own website. Crispin’s client is a software company with “a web-building tool that allows even the most technically illiterate person to build a website in a couple of hours”

What’s in it for me?
You don’t have to pay anything for the software
You can update the site at any time yourself—no need for technical support
Pictures, video and audio can all appear and the uploading is automatic
It doesn’t have the constraints of other templates so you can place pictures etc anywhere on the page
All you do is pay a firm to host the website—they have a deal with a company that will do it for about £4 a month

What’s in it for them?
The company is in start-up mode and is looking to build reference sites with recommendations so this is an ideal opportunity for the private sector to work with the voluntary sector for mutual benefit. The CEO will also help the first few organisations to build their sites so this could really help you.
