District Youth Forums

What is a Youth Forum?
It gives a voice to young people at local level. In Worcestershire there are a number of groups that give a voice at local level to young people, such as school councils, voluntary organisations and youth centre management committees. At countywide level there is the Youth Cabinet. At present there is a gap at the district level, although there are some examples of good practice such as Redditch Student Council.

District Youth Forums are ‘open to all’. They are Youth led and will aim to represent the views of young people in a particular area.
They will aim to link with District Councils and Local Strategic Partnerships. They will aim to ensure the views of young people are taken into account and used to inform local decision-making and service development.
