Children In Need VCS Event

24 October 2008, 09:45AM - 24 October 2008, 16:00PM

In association with a range of funders and development agencies, BBC Children in Need are hosting an advice day for voluntary or community based groups who wish to apply for funding for non-statutory work with children and young people. The day offers a chance to speak to a variety of funders about their funding opportunities, and how to apply, as well as to hear from young people themselves about what they think makes a good project.

Delegates will also be able to attend up to three seminar sessions on areas where they will need to show knowledge and understanding in order to submit a strong funding application, and will have the chance to ask questions, discuss key issues with other delegates, and take away useful resources.

Attendance at the day is free, but will hopefully prove extremely valuable when you come to submit future funding applications. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

They would welcome attendance at the event from groups who work with children and young people and are thinking about applying for non-statutory funding, and who are based in Birmingham, the Black Country, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire or Herefordshire.

The event will be held on the 24th October, from 09:45 - 16:00 at the Birmingham Midlands Institute in Birmingham city centre (a short walk from New Street station).

If you would like to attend, please complete the attached booking form and return to Demelza Jones at BBC Children in Need (details on the form). When you open the form please select ‘read only’ which will allow you to complete the grey highlighted areas electronically, or print and complete the form by hand. Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

You will receive email or written confirmation directly from BBC Children in Need once your booking form has been received and processed.
