Applications for Membership of the Worcestershire Partnership VCS Funding Panel

Worcestershire Partnership Management Group has recognised the need for improved public sector investment in the local Voluntary and Community Sector and in VCS infrastructure support services. I attach a copy of the report the Management Group considered on this topic, which proposed the setting up of a countywide VCS Funding Panel.

The Management Group supported the recommendations in this report, and asked that the remit of the Panel should also include streamlining administrative arrangements with the sector, as well as funding arrangements.

We are now in the process of identifying people from the voluntary and community sector who would be interested in becoming members of this Panel and have the qualities required. We are using a similar process to that used about a year ago to select members for the Worcestershire County Council Policy Advisory Group (PAG), although this Panel is a separate group convened by the Partnership and with a very different remit.

There are five places on the Panel, each reserved for a candidate from a certain type of organisation, so that we have a range of experience and perspectives on the Panel. On the application form we have asked you to specify the type of organisation you represent. I understand that many organisations fulfil a variety of roles, but in this instance, I would ask you to choose one category only that best defines the panel member place you wish to take.

If there is more than one application for any of the five places we shall hold an open voting process to select the member for that place. All VCS organisations on our e-mail database will be invited to vote for the individuals they would like to join Funding Panel

Please find attached an application form, the report that gives the background to the creation of the panel, and a list of the qualities Panel Members will be expected to show.

If you would like to apply for a place on the Funding Panel, please complete and return the application form to:
