Adult Protection Training for Managers

In July 2009 Worcestershire Safeguarding Board, decided on mandatory Adult Protection training for all managers working in settings providing services to vulnerable adults. They have therefore commissioned the following sessions:

8th October 2009
20th October 2009

10th November 2009
26th November 2009

3rd December 2009
12th January 2010
19th January 2010

4th February 2010
18th February 2010

4th March 2010
25th March 2010

This one day course will cover the following essential topics:

Legal and Historical Background to Safeguarding Adults
Core Definitions
Types of Abuse
Duties of LA's and other service providers
Over view of DOLS
What can increase risk of abuse within your service?
Problem solving techniques
Managers role in Adult Protection Process
Investigation process
ISA and CQC
Worcestershire's Vulnerable Adults protocol
Choice and Control
New Developments in Adult protection and Safeguarding Adults
